Job description

Head the Risk Management Function for PoloWorks, which includes but not limited to Polo Managing Agency and Polo Commercial Insurance Services. Head the Risk Management Function and hold the SMF4 Chief Risk Officer role for Polo Managing Agency Limited.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with the Marco group CRO, supporting the Group Entities in developing the group risk strategy and management function, manage the risk management team, and represent the Group as needed.

Manage UK-based risk functions and drive risk management in both the service and Lloyd’s divisions.

In cooperation with the PoloWorks leadership team, develop the risk management strategy, principles, framework, and policy.

Maintain risk management practices and reporting in line with local requirements, including:

  • Oversee the effective operation of the Quarterly Risk & Capital Committee meetings.
  • Establish, maintain, and oversee processes and controls for the identification, monitoring, measurement, mitigation, and management of risks in line with Group frameworks

Establish and monitor Risk Appetites, Tolerances and Limits.

Provide direction and sign-off of Own Risk and Solvency.

Assessment (“ORSA”) reporting for UK entities.

Advise and support the business on risk management issues, including review of strategy and business plans.

Contribute to the Group Risk Management team to develop risk management practices for the Group, including strategy, principles, framework, and policy.

Promote an appropriate risk culture at all levels of the Company.

Support the PoloWorks CEO in all aspects of risk management.

Experience and Skills

Significant experience in (re)insurance risk management

Experience with Lloyd’s managing agency requirements - essential

Proven experience developing and implementing risk management strategies.

Knowledge of Lloyd’s managing agency requirements.

Degree in finance, actuarial or related field is preferable.

Professional certification.

Strong understanding of financial risks and regulations (SII) and Capital modelling.
